Menlo Park Mall in Edison New Jersey has been around since 1995 until it was renovated around 2008. However, what would happen to malls if supposedly one day they were no longer of use to the community, would they still exist? This project consists of not only transforming the mall to have this outlet type structure now but it creates different points of interest through creating movement in circulation from both pathways to pedestrian footbridges, having an adapation to an existing structure by designing this lifestyle center in a mall like these cruciform residential complexes, and expanding some green spaces that connect back to the other quadrants of the site. The main key to this whole project was to create this new community that co-exists with an existing commercial site like Menlo Park Mall.
